I'm always amazed with the reaction I get when I tell people
that Black Creek Pioneer Village is really fun.  I suppose they
have the impression that it's all serious history.  Well, it is
that of course, but there's a wonderful combination of history
and learning with extremely kind,  knowledgeable
interpreters and events to which my granddaughters look
forward with great enthusiasm.

It's fun for me too because I've always loved antiques and
history so the village marries well with my love of
photography.  Watching my granddaughters, Adora & Shiloh,
enjoy themselves is fun in itself as well.  There are pictures of
them on this site and their faces tell the story!  Actually, because
I have sooooo many photographs of Pioneer Village I decided
to make this blogsite as a repository for them all.

I've included bits and pieces from around the internet about
pioneer history in Upper Canada because I find it fascinating
and perhaps you will too.

If you're planning a visit to the Village either on your own
or with children check out the Black Creek Pioneer Village
website for the various events held during the year......
......and take your camera!
